Hi I'm a new member
Redsoxs is spot on. Personally I don't keep more than one to a pen with hens or pullets. There is one exception right now where I have a pen with attached run that's currently housing 30 hatchery birds where about half are cockerels. These birds are young at about 10 weeks old and I got them as straight run. I plan to move the pullets in with my layer flock in a few weeks and after about 3 more months or so I'll pick the best Naked Neck and Brown Leghorn cockerels and put them aside in their own pens. We'll BBQ the remaining cockerels and all the Dark Cornish. But other than this special case I've never kept more than one cock in a coop/run no matter the number of hens/pullets I have. If they free ranged I'd go by the 1:10 rule unless I had problems. How many roosters can u have to a pen wondering if they will fight
