Hi and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. I recall a thread for names - try using the search box and good luck with your new flock.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

Welcome!

As Ken has suggested, there are a couple of naming threads that you might want to check out. If you pop ‘chicken names’ into the search option you will probably get some good places to start. I also agree on a visit to the Learning Centre.

Another suggestion for chicken names is themes. I have named all of my gals after female Singers, Cilla [Black] Dusty [Springfield] etc

Do you have something that you like or are interested in that you could use for a theme? Movies or Movie Stars, or Artists [painters, sculptors etc], Sports, Cars …..

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Congrats on your upcoming chicks! I've had a few RIR's before and really enjoyed them. As for names, we named our birds after old friends (Scotty, Sue, Tracey, Beau, etc.)...some of our friends were very pleased to have their "own" chicken and others not so much, lol.

Have fun with your new flock and thanks for joining us!
