Chicken breed confusion

I ordered three Easter Eggers and one olive Egger. One ended up being a golden laced Wyandotte and there are two that are very similar in coloring even though one ended up being a rooster (I ordered all pullers). When I sent the company a picture to prove it was a rooster they said it was the olive Egger. So my question is can someone tell me what breeds I have? I am pretty sure they didn't get a single thing correct with this order. My first order was perfect.

Here is a pick of the other three. The one towards the back is clearly a golden laced Wyandotte. It's the two other ones that I have no idea. I ordered three Easter Eggers. The company is saying the one in the middle (the rooster that was supposed to be a hen) is the olive Egger? I am so confused.

Why are your so sure that other is a golden laced wyandotte? EEs come in many looks (as do OEs). They also can be muffless. Even if that is a Wyandotte, then they got three things correct, and sexing is only ~90% guaranteed which is why I never order just one of anything.

I'm getting a roo vibe from both the two nearest the camera. The middle one is an obvious cockerel because of the comb but the other one's colouring is suspicious and if it has a pea comb then it would not be so noticeable as the straight comb is.

Can you post individual profile photos of each of them in natural light. I would be particularly interested to see the comb on the one nearest the camera in close up too. The gold laced one could potentially still be an EE as the other poster stated. What type of comb does it have and what colour legs. Pea comb and/or green legs would suggest it is an EE, rose comb and yellow legs would confirm Wyandotte.

The first photo appears to be an EE.

One of my Wyandottes has a straight comb... So even rose comb doesn't guarantee.

First 1 EE. And cute EE at that!

And yes. my OE look similar to the OE boy. Those can be any variety to include feathered legs or not, beards and muffs or not, and straight or pea combs. Both my OE, different source from you have feathers on legs. 1 has straight while the other has a pea comb. And neither has beards or muffs. Depends on the breeding and what generation they are at and all that.

However... even though they are only 90% accurate on sexing. They should still offer a refund on boys by a certain age. That is most hatcheries policy.

I got 2 GLW... just like the other person who gets two just in case.... Sorry 1 silver and 1 gold from sexed pullets at the feed store. Both were boys. But the suspected GLW does look more like a possible EE. But leg color and sometimes ear lobe color along with eye color can sometimes help discern between breeds. Also, in some cases.. how many toes they have.

Oh, and welcome to BYC!

First pic is an Easter egger pullet.

Second pic, back to front, I see a gold laced Wyandotte pullet, a mixed breed cockerel, and what's probably an Easter egger, but definitely a cockerel.

the hatchery probably ID'd the middle bird as the Olive egger due to the straight comb. Depending on the specific "recipe" they use to make their olive layers, it's quite possible for the bird to have a straight comb. He's also clean faced...it does make me wonder what they use to get the blue gene, though. With those traits, Ameraucana is not really an option, so that kinda leaves Legbar...but he's not barred, or crested....Well, maybe I do see a bit of a residual crest there? Who knows, maybe it's a multi-generational thing and they've lost the barring but kept the blue egg gene? Anyway.

Classically, Easter eggers should have pea combs and muffs. First bird and last bird have those. They'll be your EE.

So, you got a wrong breed/right sex (glw pullet).

You got a right breed/right sex (EE pullet)

Right breed wrong sex x 2 (Olive egger and EE cockerels)

Not a good day at the hatchery, sounds like.

My OE are FBCM cross Blue Ameraucana. I got one black girl and 1 blue .... still no cheeks on either.

Either way... I would see about getting my refund if it isn't too late... including the wrong breed one. Though it wouldn't surprise me if they have a clause that states they can make substitutions as needed on breeds.

Good luck with your two girls! Are you planning or able to keep either of the boys?
