Not the best picture but it is a Buff Brahma bantam. She is from Meyer They are great. She was an accident i ordered regular Buff Brahmas but i got her. Im am very pleased with her, she is 2 and lays medium eggs about 3 times a week.

Happy to be here

This is my first time having my own chickens so im very extited. I have helped others raise chickens my personal experiance is with jersey giants but they just were to big and agressive so i chosr smaller breeds

Does anyone free range bantams?

Yeah, only with a hawk though. Only during the winter though when there is less animals for the hawks to eat. It didn't single out the bantams, if anything they got away better.

We have alot of hawks. In the summer but if i do free range then there is alot of cover.... Except for if they happened to be in the several acres of mowed lawn. Probobly would. Never have to feed them. I am worried though because come mid febuary a bald eagle comes by fore a week each year
