Help! Need sour crop treatment

So I noticed earlier one of my hens was drinking more water then usual, and sort of staring off into space while everyone else scratched around. Shortly after they all went to bed. I took her off the roost and noticed her crop had a squishy water balloon feel to it. Brought her in and got on google. Lots of people said to hold her upside down and massage crop until she throws up. Well I did and she got most of it out. So a few questions I have:
Do I need to keep doing it until she throws the rest up or leave her till morning and check?
I'm going to withhold food for now but can I put apple cider vinegar in with her?
When should this clear up, and how often should I massage crop?
Also I noticed a lot of liquid coming out of her rear end.

Leave her alone tonight and check her crop first thing in the morning before she has had a chance to eat or drink. ACV is controversial with crop problems--some sources like it, some say never use it with sour crop. The main thing with a crop problem, is to give as much water as possible, and no solid food, while massaging the crop several times a day. Plain yogurt is good to give, along with water and electrolytes. Do a search at the top of this page for TwoCrows thread on "treating sour and impacted crop." Forcing them to vomit crop contents can be dangerous, so be sure to read the correct way before attempting it, since many don't practice that. TheChickenChick.com has some good info also on crop problems.

Thank you for your reply. Now I'm a little worried because after reading forums where people say to make them vomit (so I did) then I started reading where people said NOT to do it. I really hope I did it right. I'm also frustrated because I try to do a lot of preventatives for health. I occasionally use vitamins and electrolytes in the water, feed fermented food and also sprouted grains. I'm wondering if she got an impacted crop because I let the sprouts get too long. I gave her water with a tiny bit of ACV and will check on her in the morning. I will also get her some good quality yogurt. I am NOT going to induce vomit anymore. I've never dealt with this before, so I guess I will monitor and massage crop a few times a day? What should I feed other than yogurt?

Many conditions can cause crop problems, and I would first try to determine if she really has one, or if it is just a slow emptying crop which may happen during an illness. Long grasses are a big cause of impacted crop which would feel hard. Sour crop, which feels puffy like a balloon, occurs from either a fungal or bacterial infection in the digestive tract that may be caused by long term impacted crop or something else. A slow crop differs from sour crop in that there is no foul or sour odor. It may occur with cocci, worm, or respiratory diseases. Feel of her crop in early morning before she eats or drinks, to see if the crop has emptied. If not, then put her in a dog crate with water and electrolytes, yogurt and raw egg mixed, but not solid food until her crop empties, and massage the crop frequently. I am not an expert on crop problems, and there is a lot of contradicting information, so read all you can, make up your mind on how to proceed, and then seek vet care if there is no improvement. If you read some threads here on BYC, some treat with 2 stool softener capsules, 1/3 of a monistat suppository twice a day, and other home remedies. I would advise against giving oil orally, since it may gunk up the crop more, but also can be choked on causing more serious problems.
