Hello Everyone!

My bantam has been acting odd this past week. She use to be the girl that called everyone in for the night. Now she roosts on top of our compost bins long after dark all by herself or snuggles into a corner under the coop while the rest of her flock is roosting inside. She has also begun to sneak out of the yard through gaps in the fence. This has never been an issue.

Why do you think, all of a sudden, she seeks to be alone? Other than that, she's fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Suzanne

Maybe your girl is being bullied? Hope you find the answers you need.

Best wishes!

Sounds like she is being bullied and wants out of there - or possibly (if you have a rooster) is going broody and has a secret nest.

There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around the run. I hope it's nothing serious with your girl. She may be getting picked on. Good luck with her.
