Best Book(s) for Raising Baby Chicks

Good Evening,

I am about a week away from finishing our coop/run. It has been a lengthy process, but it should be well worth it.

My wife and I will be receiving our first baby chicks towards the beginning of March. I have done a tremendous amount of reading on the BYC forums regarding coop design, heating sources, etc., but was hoping to find a good book that walks a beginner through the baby phase. I especially want to make sure that I have everything that is needed on hand.

I am especially looking for more details on:
- things to have on hand in case of emergency
- how to make sure the chicks are healthy and what to do if they are not
- the schedule for transitioning between food types and what do they need during each of these.

Any help and input is greatly apprecaited!

Thank you for all of the welcome messages and information.

I just finished building our coop/run a couple days ago and have an area set up and ready for the baby chicks that should be arriving later this month.
After much reading on here, I will be trying to heating pad method for keeping the chicks warm.
