Okay I asked a bit ago what I would get if I put a BLRW Roo over White Wyandotte hens........and was told blue Wyandotte chicks! Which I want!
But now I have blue chicks! What happens if I cross them?

Also what if I put a splash laced Roo over those white hens?
And what of their chicks if crossed?

I get blue traits as that is easy! But then when breaking smaller and positives and such lost!

My white Wyandotte come from white parents and breed true too which. Just I did not end up with a white Roo.

Yes, recessive white crossed to recessive white will result in whites.

The thing about recessive white is the gene acts as an off switch. It prevents colors and patterns that are genetically present from showing. That means you can't be sure what colors or patterns your hens are carrying under that white. It could be black, blue, partridge, gold laced, silver laced, or even a mixed color/pattern. Crossing them with a blue laced red, or splash laced red, could result in just about anything. The chicks could possibly be blue if she is black underneath, but it is far from a certainty.

Okay the last person told me to treat them as black because they came from white and breed true to white.

So your saying I might not even get blue chicks from a BLRW Roo over white hens!

She did say the cockerels could have red leakage. But did not sound like the pullets!
And off course it BLRW over white would actually be 50% black and 50% blue. With Roos maybe having red leakage. But everything solid color and all lacing lost!

Now is Splashe laced Roo over white Wyandottes, then that 100% blue solid chicks! With Roos possibly getting red leakage!

So this might not be right I just might get a mixed color chick?
