CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Generally speaking the peahens will lay about every other day but can sometimes vary depending on many factor. First time laying peahens May not be regular yet. It can vary on the quantity of eggs as well but 20 to 30 seems to be about average. You can hold the eggs if stored properly (turned 2 to 3 times daily and temp less than 70) about 10 days or so and then set several eggs at one time. I'm excited for you! I still get excited every time my pea hens lay.
Awesome! Thanks so much!!! I guess I'll save it ten days so I can get as many as possible before setting! I got so happy when I saw it

My turkey just started laying last week, then the peahen! They both did the same thing, too. They've both got laying boxes, and they both layed right in front of their coop door

I am wondering how your hens did..? My hens are laying for the first time and I have a total of three eggs now... there's nice clean shavings in the main coop and they both have chosen to lay in the middle of the barn. We've moved and gathered the eggs to a safer corner where it looks like they had dug out an area... anything else I should be doing or looking for...? This is my first year with peafowl... thanks!
