So, I've been hatching eggs for about 4 years and I thankfully haven't had any issues where I have to help. Recently though, I've been having quite a few but nothing too serious until today. The eggs are on day 23 and four babies have hatched so far. On day 20, four eggs pipped. Two hatched that day and the next two more pipped and hatched but the two from day 20 haven't moved since. About an hour and a half and hour ago, the one did hatch but I didn't get to see it hatch so I don't know if anything went wrong. When I went to check the incubator, I saw the baby laying kinda weirdly and moving weird so I looked closer and saw that there's like a bump right at the base of her neck, like a bone in the wrong place. I watched her and she started to move. She just kinda rolls around and she can't move her neck at all. Is there something wrong with her? Can I do anything to help? And as for the other, the egg looks really dried out. I was watching it, and he kept wiggling around, but the egg didn't break or anything. I know he's alive, I hear him crying and no matter how much he moves, the egg won't break, it's just the little peep hole, nothing more. Is there anything I can do for him? It's never taken this long for any of my past chicks to hatch. Normally after they pip it only takes about 3-6 hours. I know the humidity and everything is okay and the other four are all normal and healthy jumping around. I'm worried about these two and I hope there's something I can do. I'll take a close look at the first baby with the lump tomorrow when I take her out of the incubator to put her with the others. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would assist the one that has been pipped with no progress.

Take him out and slowly start picking away the shell at the pip hole. Go slow and if you see any blood while doing this stop and put back in bator. Give a little time and try again.

Sometime it doesn't take too much to get them out

I was thinking about doing that, but as I was reading on how to do that, it said you shouldn't do that because the baby would be too weak to survive. If he still hasn't made ant for progress in the next hour or two I guess I'll try doing that. Thanks

If the membrane is looking dry I would give assisting a shot.

Baby may be weak may not make it. But if he can't get out he's not gonna make it.

That's a really good point I didn't even think about. I'll go try to help him, thanks

Yes, I successfully got him out of his shell, but he's really small, about half the size of the others even though he's only a day younger. Also, he's missing two toes, one on each foot. He seems to be walking okay. I'll see if I can post any pictures of his feet but I don't think it'll affect him too much, at least I hope not.

The last picture is him next to one of the other babies to show his size. The first two are different angles. He is walking okay though so hopefully his missing toes won't cause any harm or pain in his future. It's the outer toe on each foot that's just gone. There are little stubs like they started to develop, but didn't get to fully. They don't seem to hurt him or anything.
