I have a new baby goat named Charley.
I was told Nigerian Dwarf, but I'm starting to wonder if the seller was mistaken or maybe even dishonest. I'm not hugely concerned about whether he is pure or not, just curious if my suspicions are right.
Charley is mostly white with some brown and black markings. The parents (according to the seller) were on site and I saw them, but the seller said they have other goats at their mom's farm where Charley's mom is around other bucks too. The mom is brown with black dorsal stripe and black face/leg markings. I can tell that Charley has the same markings under the white patches. The buck that the seller said is Charley's father is white with black spots, not ticking, spots.
There is an area about 2 to 3 inches at the top of Charley's withers there the fur grows backwards. The hairs are blunt, like someone cut the hair there to disguise the length. Is there a breed of goat that has this feature? I've tried looking it up but search results only show the Rhodesian Ridgeback dog.
