Hi, I'm Bill from Denver NC,

I'm starting up again with chickens. We relocated to NC 11 years ago from PA. I used to house about 25 chickens, a pygmy goat and a couple of babydoll southdown sheep, which we didn't bring with us. I contacted the local authorities and it's no problem having chickens here, so I'm going to get some during chick days at tractor supply. I have a small chicken tractor right now, that will house about 4 - 6 hens. They will mostly just be using it to sleep at night. They will free range otherwise. I plan on building a bigger coop over the summer so I can get more next year. My brooder is ready to go with the MHP in place all I need are the chicks!

Welcome!

Good luck with the build and your new feathered friends when they arrive.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
