Ok as I've lost all my silkie eggs (from eBay) I'm now going to concentrate on my khakis who have a week to go. I've been turning them 3-5 times daily and starting misting 2 weeks in as it seemed to help with humidity. One of the eggs is super active can even see it's face come near the shell

The other has movement but is slower. Anything I can do to make sure these beauties hatch? I've sacrificed my freedom for three weeks for these eggs so I'm really hoping they hatch. Advice very welcome as I'm a newbie at this

Good luck! What type of incubator are you using and what are you keeping the temp and humidity at? Sounds like things are going well so far and hopefully by day 28 you have some ducklings :)

Homemade incubator I done a lot of research beforehand. I'm using a normal household light the temp is at 37.5 humidity is over 40s so I guess it's just mother natures turn now? I'm really hoping I do hatch them as yesterday I lost my last silkie during hatching

so I'm going out today to buy a chick as my nephew is coming over and he expect a chick to be hatched so I'm being sneaky haha

Good luck! :)

Aim for the humidity to be between 65-75% from day 25. I would recommend buying 2 chicks- raising a single chick is VERY hardwork, since they are constantly craving attention.
