Help. My ducklings have been fine up until this morning only one of the seven is now having splayed leg. I don't understand how it can happen all of a sudden and I don't know what to do about it

What type of bedding are you keeping them on? You're right, splayed leg doesn't usually develop so late. What are you feeding them and have you been giving them supplemental niacin? Can you post a picture of what's going on with its legs?

Here's an article explaining how to fix splayed leg:

As Pyxis said, the type of bedding/ surface of their brooder could have caused it- use a towel, pine shavings or chopped straw as bedding, as it gives them enough grip to walk on.

Also, if you are feeding them chick crumb, it is recommended to add a tablespoon of Brewers Yeast (not baking yeast) per every scoop of feed, which provides them with the Niacin that they need. You can easily buy Brewers Yeast from your local health food shop or online, from places such as Amazon.

Good luck, and I hope that this helps :).

Thank you so much for the information. I tried to upload a picture but I'm having issues with that. The duckling does not seem to be as bad today. Since they are living in my house I have them on wee wee pads. I think my mistake is that they have been getting into the wet dog food which I hear is high in fat content. I also added brewer's yeast to their food. I clean their area thourouly in the morning and at night and then I do touch-ups during the day. They are eating chicken feed 20% starter. I ordered waterfowl food and it should be delivered today.

I am starting to put flakes on top of the wee wee pads just in case that is affecting the baby ducks
