If white is a color ... one of the 12 color mutations !
I want to see a picture of a White peacock with the Black shoulder pattern !

I thought White is placed under both. It covers all other colors and patterns. Technically White can be a color because you can get IBBS split to White. Which means that one of the parents or both had to be split to BS at least. To be split to White, one parent was a White. So the White had to be split to BS at least. As a pattern because it's required for certain patterns to work. Although some patterns are together because they're at a different loci. Maybe when I finish my first project I can figure out how White peafowl genetics.

Technically White is the absence of color which is why it is a pattern that covers color. White is still an IB, the color is covered by a pattern of absence.
I sort of want to do a genetic test on White peafowl now. I know it's leucistic but I want to know where the gene is at on the chromosomes. I have to complete my first genetic research project first though.

Even the fact that a peacock can be phenotypeally white and genotypeally Bronze has been proven?
Example:
Blue Dark pied X white but genotypeally Bronze .... gives 100% peacock pied ... but what color?

I'm not sure if I will be using CRISPR method. What I'm doing for my genetic research is compare and analysis of the genome. I'm not modyfing the genome.
 
CRISPR is similar to restricted enzyme process. The restricted enzyme targets a specific nucleotide segment and cuts it out. Then we can insert it into an organism by splitting their genome so we can insert it. We can also replicate specific genes as well to study them. We can also put blood cells into a centrifuge and spin it fast enough so we can take the DNA then insert it into a gel that will separate the genes based on size and charge.

So my new white cock and one of my IB split to white hens produced two unique chicks. Will get some pictures of them so you can let me know what you think.
