I have a female turkey that we keep with r ducks. Yesterday I found a nest with 2 eggs that look like duck eggs so I left them alone. Today 2 more eggs and a more nest form was there. I assume they r duck but I caught my turkey on top of nest fixing it up. Would she be adopting/kidnapping the nest or could her eggs look like duck eggs? These eggs do not look like her last nest of eggs? I'm excited for r first batch of babies but won't have any if they r turkey as r male was killed last fall.

It would help if you post a picture of the eggs. I have not seen any duck eggs that look like turkey eggs. It is possible that your turkey hen is getting ready to start laying and decided to use that nest because it already has eggs in it. When your hen is ready to go broody, she will not care if they are duck or turkey eggs. A turkey hen can hatch duck eggs. I had a turkey hen hatch goose eggs.

That's what I thought. Well I guess I'll leave her b as long as the nest is safe. And hopefully we have babies in however long it takes! First time having a nest. Thank u
