Good egglayers for kansas

I currently have 1 Delaware hen 2 red sex link hens and 1 red sex link rooster. This spring I would like to add at least 8 new chicks of a couple of different breeds. They need to be good egg layers be very cold and heat hardy and they need to be able to live along side other breeds. Thanks for any help
 
What breeds do you find interesting? Any egg colors you want to add? I have similar needs and weather and have had 20+ different breeds over the years. I do try to stay away from big floppy combs (do have one 4 year old brown leghorn who has never had frostbite and still lays like a machine). I have also had Cochins and brahmas in 100* weather.
My flock will never be without green and blue egg layers (EEs, araucana or ameraucana) a few white layers (love my Brabanter),a barred rock or 2 plus some black australorps to up my egg numbers. I also make room for my eye candy birds. Not the best layers but that's not why I have them.
 
the breeds I had in mind were australorps Plymouth Rock Jersey Giant Rhode Island red and Easter Eggers.
 
I've never had JG but you would need to size everything for them. Bigger nesting boxes, bigger pop door plus more room to fly down from the roost. I never recommend RIR for a first timer mixed flock. They can be bullies. What about a welsummer instead. Mine have all been easygoing flockmates. The dark eggs are fun too. I like the rest of the mix.

X2 on the big floppy combs. In Pennsylvania we have similar temperatures, and there are lots of breeds that would fit the bill. I love my Easter eggers. They can stand both extremes of weather as can buckeyes, welsummers, marans, and a lot of other breeds. A while back had Jersey Giants, still have some mixes thereof and they fit in well without having to make accommodations for sizing.
You can go to www.mypetchicken.com and they have a short questionnaire you can answer about what you want and expect from your chickens and they will give you several breeds that should fit the bill.
Your problem may wind up being you want one of every possibility and that would make for a lot of chickens. I still have breeds on my want to try list.
