Hello all my fiance and I are new to raising chickens and ducks we would like to build a run and coop big enough for them both. She suggest 90 Sq ft for the 23 chickens and 4 ducks we have. I want to do build a 1677sqft run and coop to give plenty of space for them all. We would like some input on this because we are running out of time before we have to move the ducks out side.

A little background 7 of the chickens and 1 rooster are full size the other 15 are still chick's then we have 4 ducks that are getting to big for their enclosure. We are looking at growing our chicken flock by another 7 in a few years and we won't to do this right. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Harley Quinn,

First off don't put your chicks in with the adults as the adults will kill them. Second, do you have land? If so how much? Also chickens needs 3 square metres each. If you have a 1677 sqft run you can have up to 51 chickens!

Hope I can help

Yes plenty of land worried about putting both ducks and chickens in same coop & run. And if the space we want to use is big enough for the two different kinds of birds to live together in harmony.
