Starting up

Welcome to BYC
The logistics of this would depend on your location, whether you want to sell in state or interstate, etc. Each state has their own process in regards to licensing your business. Additionally, you would then need to contract with the feed store(s) in question - having any licenses needed in place first will be key in them wanting to do business with you. Larger chains will be less likely to deal with a smaller organization, and for a start it would be better to work with one or two smaller "mom and pop" type places as you get the hang of things.
For smaller hatcheries/private persons it is often easier and more cost effective to sell them yourself direct to consumers - using platforms such as FB, CL or local poultry swaps --- the reason being that selling to a feed store would be done at wholesale rates (as they would then turn around and sell the birds at retail), as a direct seller you are able to make more per chick. The trade off being, though, that as a direct seller you don't have that guaranteed sale that comes with a pre-order and/or you may not have the volume of sales you are hoping for.
The starting point would be to research the regulations for your state.
