Two cracks/holes on each side of the egg

Hi All, I was wondering if someone could provide input on why my egg has these two soft spots on each side. The first time I found it, I thought my 9 month BA may have pecked at the egg. This is the second time (next day) I've seen this but there isn't a hole. The egg shell is still intact but the broken area is soft and cracked. Please help!!

That is a shell issue - the spots that are dented have weak or thin shelling over the areas. There can be many causes to this - from a glitch in the shell gland to insufficient calcium and many points in between. You mention the BA is 9 months of age, are there other birds in the flock and, if so, what are their ages? Has anyone recently begun or resumed laying?
 
I have 4 birds in my flock. 3 of them are hens (1 BA, 1 Orpington, 1 Americauna) and a rooster (1 Speckled Sussex), and they are all the same age (9 months). I know there can be a lot of variables, but something to also point out is that recently, my SS has shown ALOT of interest in my BA as her head is starting to bald. Not sure if that would stress her out. In addition, my SS starting laying about a month ago. Her eggs have always been a little oddly shaped, but the shell has been fine. Not sure what would suddenly cause her to lay these types of eggs.

Your 'rooster' is laying eggs?
Maybe you meant your BA started laying month ago...and her eggs have always been a bit weird?

Stress could definitely be part of the problem with 1 male and 3 females.

Knowing their housing situation..coop and run size, in feet by feet could help.
Also what and how exactly you are feeding?

ha! yes, i meant my BA. Her eggs have always had a bit of a sharp oblong shape at the top. Currently, I've been feeding them Purina Layena Crumble.

In regards to stress, I've just gave away my rooster :( (I live in the suburbs and he was making too much noise). So far, my BA has starting laying again and her eggs are normal again!
