Using tea tree shampoo on me but sais not safe for some animals.used seven dust in coop, and on birds, agri- mectine (ivermectine for cattle and equine) still itching, still mad. Ready to call my doctor for any help. Scared to even hold my birds now, for fear of reinfestation . Mad as hell,

If they're on you, then they are probably mites. Mites have shown resistance to Sevin (carbaryl), so go to Tractor Supply and get some 10% permethrin spray, then strip all bedding from coop and spray the entire coop and all of the birds.

One of the sprays here is what you want:

All the lice (louse? did we decide) are GONE!! Thank you permethrin spray! I still have some nits, but am ready for them when they hatch! Bring it on lice!! I handled my hens a lot and never got lice, or should I still be crossing my fingers ;)? Only one out of many resources said I could get the poultry lice, but I'm leaning towards no! Phew, glad that misadventure is almost done!

Glad to hear of your progress! The lice might crawl on you, but they are species specific - so you won't get 'cooties'..:)
