Please can anyone help identify the sex of my cream legbar chicks?

I'm new to chickens and chose cream legbars because I read they're great foragers, friendly, beautiful and can be sexed easily. I bought 2 'hens' and they looked identical to this novice but they are changing very quickly. 'Chick 1' started to feather way before 'chick 2'. Chick 1 now has a lighter head, the feathers are coming in with a lot more gray and the eye liner marks are a lot more muted. I'm wondering if chick 1 might be a boy

You sex them at hatch. The boys have different coloring than the girls. If they both had female down coloring, then it doesn't matter how they look now, they're still girls. Those are pullets.

Yes - they both looked very similar during the first couple of days (to this untrained eye they looked identical). They are so different now and chick 1 also has a light cream 'spot' on the head which also made me think it might be a boy. I'm thrilled you think they are pullets

Thank you!

Thank you!

They are cuties. :) My silkie is sitting on 6 cream legbar eggs (plus some of her own) and I can't wait to see them. I've never had an autosexing breed before.

How eggciting!! I really like the CL chicks - they are inquisitive, friendly and sweet with the others. I was very excited to know they are hens - hence my concern when I feared one might be a roo. Here's to your silkie mum
