My Blue Swedish Is Not Eating

I forgot to mention that she hasn't been laying eggs, i just assumed it was because she wasn't eating and was stressed out but Lizzie has been laying eggs still. Could it be possible that this is her being egg bound? Or is it normal for a duck to not lay for a while after something tragic happens to them?

I tried mixing up her crumbles with water and had no luck but she ate a few peas. I will be contacting the vet tomorrow about getting her tube fed

Another reason why a vet visit would be a good idea. They can check to see if she is egg bound or just taking longer to recoup. But I am thinking if she is egg bound she wouldn't be eating anything and would go down hill pretty fast. I lost one to egg laying problems and she went in a few days.

Not laying when healing or going through a tragedy is very normal. They need to focus their energy on healing. Once she begins to lay then most likely she'll be recovered and her body is responding accordingly. A vet can teach you proper way to tube feed also. Or go to @casportpony sig and look up her thread on tube feeding.

Went to the vet yesterday afternoon and got a feeding tube. She had her second feeding this morning. So far everything has went smoothly with no issues. She seems a little more energetic and her poops are looking better. Now it's time to play the waiting game and hope she continues to get better

That is great news. Hopefully getting some good nourishment in will do alot to get her up and feeling better.

Keep us updated!!

Sorry for not giving daily updates, I have been extremely busy. We decided to let Blu and Lizzie return to live with their sisters. We tube fed Blu twice a day and when I let all of them out to forage yesterday afternoon I set their food bowl and water out for their dinner and Blu started eating!!!

I am so happy and relieved. She is also stretching out her neck way more now.
