Anyone know how to help/treat this goose?

Hi everyone!

Thank you again for all the replies and advice. Mikey is doing a lot better! I took him to the avian vet who ran some blood work and performed some tests. His levels are only slightly off (specifically, the liver enzymes and white blood cells are not in the normal range), which is a good sign! And the bumblefoot isn't open or oozing; it's pretty much calloused at this point, so the vet said to just maintain it clean. Because he still limps, I try to massage his feet and his legs whenever I get the chance.

The crooked spine and wings are still a mystery. The vet wasn't sure what could have caused such deformities. While I still think it might have been neglect/abuse, there's a possibility that it's a genetic or congenital condition. Whatever the case, the physical therapy I've been doing has dramatically helped. Mikey can now extend and flap his wings. I'm not sure he'll ever regain the ability to fly, but my fingers are crossed.

As for his poor feather quality, I've been giving him vitamin A and a specialized omega oil supplement. They seem to be helping, but he still has a long way to go. He has no primaries and few secondaries; most feather shafts are broken, so it'll be a while before they're replaced. He's a pain to medicate and he gets incredibly mad every time I orally administer the oil blend (to the point where he won't come near me for several hours), but I'm going to continue the treatment for as long as I can.

Also, I bought him the expensive Mazuri waterfowl maintenance, but he's quite picky. He prefers to eat the seed and cracked corn that fall from my bird feeders and the non-medicated feed I have for my chickens. So lately, I've just been preparing him a mix of all those things, along with a ton of greens, in hopes that he'll keep gaining weight and strength.

Overall, I'm incredibly happy to report that his condition has improved. I'm beyond grateful for all the help I've gotten from people both online and off. I would have been slightly lost without the support, so I can't thank you all enough!

Mikey is adorable love that face. I think not flying would be a good thing at least that way you always know he is home and safe.

Thank you so much for updating so happy to hear he is making such good improvements .
