The Hammer is about to come down in this yard!! Thankfully my coop is secured now, she was in the yard when this happened. we found her in our across street neighbors yard behind their shed.

So very sorry for you and your hen. I don't know about guns but, that sounds small. You don't want to miss. Use a cannon.

Thank you, i cried myself to sleep and woke up crying...a lot of people have no clue that my chickens are my therapy because I suffer from severe depression and PTSD, among other things, and especially her since she was my first. So believe me, my gun is coming out and there is gonna be a come to Jesus meeting. Im also going to Harbour freight, the have security systems for great prices.

So do y'all think that if I buried a few lengths of barbed wire around the run in addition to the other security measures that it would deter the diggers?
No - I would not bury barbed wire. Better to bury woven wire fencing or hardware cloth. With strips of barbed wire, there may be a chance of a predator going between the strands. As far as the .22, if you are in a residential area, that's probably going to be illegal. Better to secure your coop and run.

Ok so, I have decided to put 2x4's around the bottom of the coop, buried some. Barbed wire around the top edge of the coop, and in spaces where the chickens cant go. In the run, I put hardware cloth on the chain link, and 4x2 boards around the entire bottom of the run with barbed wire in between the board and fence. oh and the barbed wire will also be going around the top of the run on the outside.
I also got 4 traps to put in various places around to try and catch what i can. God help them...they wont leave the cage alive. I do have a question..what is the best bait to put in the trap to draw them?
My friends here have been so helpful, with cages, and whatever else I've needed. Thanks to all of your advice on this, i feel like ive been so OCD about this...lol, well i have!
