Hello from PA

I just signed up to BYC because we are in the up-to-our-noses research in urban backyard chickens. Our Borough recently changed its ordinances on backyard chickens, so we're hoping to have a group of 6 girls (no roosters allowed, unfortunately) either this summer or next summer. I am picking up the permit paperwork this afternoon to see what's required as far as space, containment, etc.

SOOOOOO excited to get this underway!!!

Good luck. I have had mine for a year now and hope to get some chicks soon.  They are so much fun to watch and the eggs are so much better then store bought.  YOU will love raising them.

Greetings from Kansas, mharden03, and :welcome!  Pleased you joined our community!  Congrats on being able to get some chicks!  BYC will be here to help should you have any questions along the way!  In the meantime, the Learning Center with its many informative articles is a great place to learn the ropes of poultry keeping:  http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
