What to feed my quail?

Soooo..... I'm getting some Japanese Quail, and I really need some advice. First of all, what exactly do you feed them? I'll ask some other questions in later threads, cuz I'm in a hurry. Thanks, guys!!
 
By Japanese I assume you're talking about the run-of-the-mill cotournix quail that people eat and lay the spotted eggs right? Not the Japanese painted quail aka Button or King Quail? :) I feel ours a high protein game bird feed with "paradise found" bird seed mix along with grit <3
 
I feed mine budgie seeds, occasionally fresh greens, pill bugs and mealworms, some berries, bean sprouts, as well grit for calcium

i can't seem to find any gamebird feed in stores, so I give them lots of insects

for chicks I blend oats, flaxseed meal, dried mealworms, and budgie seeds

they seem to do well on that and maintain a healthy weight
