Hello, I have 3 Silkie roos... They are 14 weeks old. They have blue ears, or I think its their ears idunno Is this common in their breed? I have had some "less poofy" silkies in the past and I never noticed the bright blue ears. Just making sure its normal big_smile Thanks !!

I know virtually nothing about Silkies, except that, yes, the blue ear lobes are normal.

I think it has to do with the skin color of Silkies, but I can't remember if all Silkie chickens have black skin, or if it's just the Chinese ones that do.

All silkies should have black skin, but many are lighter due to outcrossing to get different colors. Blue lobes is a good thing!

Mine look metallic turquoise blue and they are gorgeous! Both my white silkie and my blue silkie have the metallic turquoise earlobes.  Soooo pretty!
