This is my first 6 mo with chickens. I have an EE a black australorp and a leghorn all hatched last september. All three have been laying for about 6 weeks. Im now finding "wet" spots that look suspiciously like some one has broken an egg and eaten it. I cant tell who..today i got a white and a brown egg and in nest box a wet blob spot..assuming it was the EE as no blue one seen. Who know who is eating them. I guess my question is "does this matter? Should i change anything". They get layer feed from Scratch and Peck, good clean water, meal worms and grapes for treats and occasional table scraps. They love scrambled eggs too. They have clean bedding and 2 nest boxes although they often dont use them and just lay in the coop. They have an attached run of course. What to do if anything? BTW the EE is a bit broody sitting on eggs for hours and growls and hisses if shes on her egg or even one of the others eggs.

Thanks! I too have the extra dishes if grit and calcium..will check out the link
