Sorry for these being at the top. Still learning.
Hi all!

First time chick owner here.

I started off small so I didn't overwe myself and got 10 babies. 5 Plymouth and 5 Rhode Island reds. One of my reds has been acting strange the past day. Like right now it is eating but kind of laying on its side. Then it gets up and goes and and lays down somewhere and doesn't move much. Seems like balance might be off, doesn't move away as fast as the other ones do.
Maybe I am just being paranoid and need to chill out but I just don't want to kill them all.

Any advice would be appreciated but I will watch the little rascal.

Thanks!

agree with Redsoxs - looks like a healthy little chick. Does it seem to have any foot problems, like splayed feet, or curled toes - which can affect movement?
Usually they can be cured pretty fast.

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Hi and welcome to BYC. I hope that the ER peeps can help, but it looks healthy so maybe the issue can be fixed.

Good luck

You've received some good links, hope all will be ok with your little one!

Thanks Everyone for the information.
I have been watching and his feet seem normal to me but I am no chicken expert. Eating and drinking fine.
I am going to change out the flooring in the stock tank I have them in this weekend. Put half with the pine and the other with paper towels.
They have stuff in the stock tank to practice there roosting? is that the word? One of them was always on top of the waterer, pooping in the water and that got old real quick. hehe

again, thanks everyone!!!!
Will keep updated and check those sites suggested!!!!
