I have two baby chicks that has shell off but membrane is dried around them and still in bottom half of shell. Not sure what to do and I don't want to hurt them but it's been almost 24 hours they've been like this.

I would take a wet paper towel and wet it with warm to hot water and wrap it around the part where the membrane has dried on. It will help wet the membrane so it will come off easier. Have they been in the egg like this for 24 hours or did they start hatching 24 hours ago? Also they are still alive right?

are they still alive? I'm not sure the process here I'm sure someone more seasoned will come along and give advise... one thing I see is that the egg turner is still in there... on lockdown day it is always a good idea to take the egg turner out of the incubator which could be why they are stuck to the bottom I would say take the eggs out of the turner and tilt them to the side see if they can work out if not maybe gently assist?

I agree you probably should have taken them out of the turner at lockdown. I would definitely try to help since they have been like that for so long. They probably won't make if you don't since they haven't done anything recently. Just make sure to moisten the membrane first. It helps it come off. I've done that with some of my that were like that and it helped get the membrane off.

Well thank you but after I posted I had to do something. I spent 3 hours slowly with a warm cloth and pulled dried membrane from them. I don't know what happened but was pretty stressful. Both of them survived but ones feet are in curled position and hard for her to walk. I will do whatever I have to do for her but just so happy they made it. I was a crying mess and hope it never happens again. Thanks to everyone.
