Hi friends! This is a 6 week old Khaki Campbell. At least the farmer that sold it to me said that's what he is. I have my doubts. He is as big as a goose! What do you think of this bill, please?

It's a Muscovy for sure. The only breed that had the caruncles. You do NOT have a khaki Campbell I promise you. lol I know how it feels to be told you have one breed but turns out you don't. I was sold "pekins" and got 3 buffs and a blue Swedish. But they were all colored identical to pekin ducklings. Bright yellow and the whole shebang. But honey that is no khaki Campbell.

Thank you SO much for responding. That bill looks JUST like my baby. So now the questions about his sex. My female khaki "quackers" , has been getting in the mating position around him so may be she knows? Also when her mate "Cheese", was killed by a hawk a few weeks ago she startled this crazy loud quacking thay like never ceased. Now that he has been introduced to her she stopped doing that. He is not sure what to think of her! Lol she's a cougar.

I have to agree with Nyla. It looks female, but I could be wrong. Your other duck trying to breed probably doesn't mean anything. Females will go through the motions of breeding just for practice and as a show of dominance. From what I understand(I've never owned a Muscovy) the males hiss and the females coo, so you may be able to tell by the sounds it makes. Also, if it were a drake, it should have a curly tail feather.

Thank you for these great responses. I am not sure if it is a hiss or coo. It's almost like he has lost his voice and is straining to scream at us. Lol. I have been looming at pictures and believe he/she is a French White Muscovy. I have a rooster named Princess Bubblegum. When we got him we thought he was a girl for months. Until one early morning I was awoken by an awful sound. I was groggy and told my daughter "go shoot that owl". Turned out my "Princesca" was a Prince. Kept the name and say hes our transgender rooster.
