i got two chicks about a week ago they were doing fine than one of them had some crusty eyes. It seemed to me she was doing than yesterday seemed like she was struggling to catch her breath. I used saline to clean her eyes and seemed ok. This morning the other is displaying similar symptoms crusty eyes. Not sure if they got into something, or what but I don't know what to do. Please please help. The nearest chick vet is over 20 miles away.

Where did the chicks come from? Respiratory diseases such as MG can start with symptoms of watery eyes and crusts, and gasping. Most respiratory diseases are spread by carriers, but some can be passed through the hatching egg (MG.) Make sure that they are drinking fluids, and check to see that their overhead air circulation is good. Prevent any buildup of ammonia odors from droppings, dust, and mold from spills.

One of the chicks passed the other is just barely holding on. I went to two feed stores to get another tube of Terramycin and I was told to use vetRx by one store and the other store said I should not I have not been able to find the tylan(?) has anyone used e Vetrx on a chick not a baby I guess a juvenile (not laying)
