Chick 1 - three week Golden D'uccle

Chick 2 - three week Japanese Bantam

Chick 3 & 4 - two week Mille Fleur D'uccles

Chick 5 - 2 week Frizzle

Chick 6 - 2 or 3 week old silkie

It's really too early. What is behavior like? Sometimes, but not always, that is a good indication. I have a feeling one MF d'Uccle and the silkie are male but that's hard to judge at such a young age and through photographs.

I was thinking the same on the MF. They are the same age but look quite different I think. They both act pretty oblivious to everything going on around them. Chick 1, the golden d'uccle is the most friendly. She hops out of her cage to me. I'm so hoping she's a hen. Silkie is kind of a jerk to me and the other chics. Japanese just runs away from me. The frizzle seems pretty oblivious to what's going on also. Thanks for posting!

The posture of the lighter MF is more male, but the feathering rate (in comparison to the other) seems more female so it's hard to say!

I have a little OEGB that was very friendly and outgoing and brave, similar to how you describe the golden, and so I was sure it was a boy. They are 5 weeks now and my boys are becoming very obvious and it looks like she's a girl and the shy one that I thought was a girl is a boy, so that goes to show that even the behavioral signs aren't always correct lol

Yesterday I noticed one of the Mille Fleur D'uccles comb is all of a sudden pinkening and getting puffy looking. It's actually pinker than the photos show. The other D'uccles have stayed yellow. It's odd though that it's the shorter chick that is getting pink.

Chick 1 - Pullet?
