Roosters and egg production

Maybe junebuggena above is right and the increase in egg production in my case is thanks to longer daylight hours and not connected with the rooster. But at least he doesn't seem to lower egg production in any noticeable way. If hens are stressed by roosters seems to depend on a lot of factors like flock size, space for the flock to spread out, hen to rooster ratio and personalities of the chickens. Mine seem to be okay with their rooster, he calls them over to get food and treats, they squat for him willingly and I haven't seen signs of overmating or stress.

That's good, it sounds like the kind of healthy relationship that is optimal. :)
