Hi all!
We live in Kent Washington! I bought 8 chicks about 4-5 weeks ago. I have 2 silkies, 1 polish, 1 California Grey, 1 Red 2 pullets and a sebright. Sure hoping for all hens! My girls love the chickens! Posting a picture of them. As well as a close up of my sebright(if you could tell if it is a rooster or gen I would

! Pleased you joined our community! I am the world's worst gender guess so I won't even make an attempt. But the folks in this forum are great at it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
And take a tour of the Learning Center - it is chock full of articles that will accelerate your poultry learning curve:

And if you'd like to chat with fellow WA poultry folks, find your state thread in the link below and say hello: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread
Thanks for joining BYC and best wishes to you and your flock!

Sebrights are "henny" feathered which means the male and female look alike. I don't know what age is best for attempting to sex them. But you could try posting photos at "what breed or gender is this."

How do I go about creating a thread for those links you gave me? I am doing it through my phone?

Hi and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. I'll try to help with your question. Taking the "what breed / gender is this?" forum:

Go to forum at the bottom of the screen and click
Scroll down to "Chicken Breeds" and just underneath that you will see "What breed / gender is this?" - click on that
At the top right hand corner of the screen there's an icon (box with an arrow pointing right) - click on that - the last option is "Start a new thread" - click on that and get typing.

Hope that helps (that's the iPhone version, not sure if the android one is exactly the same)

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Ooh! A sebright! I am not a huge chicken fan like most people here (I'm more into ducks) but I do like sebrights.
I'm not great with chickens, but you ever have duck questions let me know!
