I set my eggs every Wednesday to avoid chicks hatching on busy weekends. Today I collected egg number 50 and set the 27 eggs collected over the last week. So far only four of my breeding pens have started laying. Spaulding Black Shoulder, Spaulding Peach, Cameo Black Shoulder, and Spaulding Purple Black Shoulder. My first hatching chicks are not due for another couple of weeks. The two incubators you see in the picture are Brinsea 380's and hold 198 pea eggs each. I am also using broody hens to help ease the overload.

Wow, you're gonna be busy this season!

I have eleven n the RCOM 20, but I think the majority are not fertile. First one or two are due around Easter, I think.

With over 50 breeding hens I surely will.  The first seven eggs I set under a broody are probably clear as well.

Fifty, wow! Yeah, four of my eleven are out of a hen that's been with an immature 2 year old, so not gonna bother setting more of those.

That's a lot of eggs! I have 0 eggs I think. I should ask my mom and dad next time I call. I know they won't incubate the eggs though.

Just candled the eggs I set 5-7 days ago, and three were clear. Added one more today, so I guess that's 11 - 3 +1 = 9?

Maybe they could sell them for you?
They'll most likely collect them to eat. I do have a person wanting hatching eggs from me. When I get back to Idaho and when my hens are laying I'll sell some. I've never sold hatching eggs before so I'm trying to think of a price. I will have White and IB peafowl eggs. What do you think a good price is for White peafowl hatching eggs and IB peafowl hatching eggs.

I have no idea what to sell them for. :idunno

Check the local market and match prices. I have seen some on-line auctions that start out around $10 per egg for IB. I'd ask twice that for White, but I won't sell eggs. I have had a couple of inquires I could send your way if you want to ship. Then again I think you need to be NPIP to ship over state lines.
