What antibiotics can I give for my chicks that have crust in/over their eyes? I've been wiping them clean with a warm cotton ball, but they're obviously​ sick. Is there an OTC medication I can give them? It actually seems to be passed around. Thanks

I am sure there is some more experienced in that---that will probably offer info. I took one along with others that had problems to the State Lab and had a Necropsy done and I can look/dig through my emails and see what the Vet called it if no one replies.

I never tried to give tylan 50 to a week old chicks---You might better ask some of the more experienced with medicine people on here. I always and Only give tylan50 oral to my chickens.

Have you given the chicks any probiotics?
 
Thanks, I'm going to just put Neosporin around the eyes for now (which I've read on others' posts), and call our vet Monday. The feed store said starting in Jan of this year, they are no longer allowed to dispense antibiotics without a prescription.
