Hello,
I am running into a problem that I experienced on my last two hatches...all eggs are fertile and grow but when it comes time to hatch there has been alot left over that does not hatch. When I open them up after giving them 5 extra days I am finding the yolk not fully absorbed. This saddens me as I always had extremly good hatch rates. Please suggestions to correct this.Humidity and temp esp with this last hatch has been stable.
Thanks
Debbie

What humidity do you use for the first 18 days and for the last 3 days? You might be said, but what incubator are you using?

I incubaye at 45-55% first 18 days then increase at lockdown..I am using the farm innovators with aet 4250..and hatched many times with awesome rates except last two.Time before we lost all due to a blizzard and a power outage so those I get but this batch I am lost.

Have you always used 45 to 55%. If I used that probably most of my would drown before they hatched---which would be about like you described. Do you candle and monitor air cells----to see If they are increasing?

Yes always used that but perhaps I will try something different. What do you recommend? I got my rates off cornell I think..I do check development along way and usually I document but this last few life has been busy so I did not docuent.I like to document so I can see what works and what doesnt.9 hatched out of 16-18. Which is whats realmy trowing me off.Usually all or most hatch so it breaks my heart.
Thanks!

You seem very experienced so yes try something different you feel will work. It sounds as though your chicks are drowning around lock-down or soon after. I like to stay in the 30 to 35% for the first 18 days---Good Luck and do let us know how the next hatch turns out.
