I actually have always been able to tell my three girls apart but I’m only dealing with three however. When their combs come all the way in and get to fully matured size you may see that each one has a slightly different size shape or I call it flop. That may sound stupid but my girls each look totally different where their combs are concerned. One sits straight up and doesn’t flop at all. Then the second just flops over slightly but my third girl who actually matured the first and was the greedy food goober and still always is the first of these three at the chow line hers actually flops over on itself and curls over on itself. It makes a noodle or penne pasta roll almost in the front. She has one of those fifty’s men’s haircut styles actually where they were shown on grease with the leather jackets. That’s her comb do. So maybe then you can tell them apart and name them.I hatched out 7 CL chicks in October, they just turned 17 weeks. They so far are very nice birds. There were 3 cockerels which I named Whiskey, Tango, and Foxtrot . 4 pullets of which I’ve only named the one so far since I can’t really tell the others apart, her name is Bunny. She has a couple white feathers in her crest that show up to look like bunny ears.
The cockerels get along for now, I know I may need to separate/downsize in the near future. I have 14 hens from last year so as of right now this feels like a good size flock.
I can definitely see me getting more of these birds.
