Pun intended. After a 2-year hiatus from chickens, I've FINALLY put in my order at MPC for BABIESSSSSSS!!
From 20012-15 I snuck under the EVIL HOA's radar and had bantam chickens. Had to hide them in my garage once for 3 weeks but it was mainly peaceful. Summer of '15 they caught me again and I gave up. Found a LOVELY lady with a farm to take my 4 remaining girls and one even hatched out chicks from her rooster a couple months later!!
Now-- I've planned my retirement, bought a house with UNRESTRICTED 2.5 acre property out in the country. And I've ordered CHICKIES!!
They'll be shipped 4/17, which is before we move into the "new" house, but I can keep baby chicks in the old coop in the backyard for 2+ more weeks until we move.
From MPC I'm getting female Red Stars, Exchequer Leghorns, Black Sumatras, Egyptian Fayomis, and 3 assorted Rare breed. I also ordered 2 Sicilian Buttercup roosters (hoping they will end up "gentle" roosters).
There's already a fully enclosed coop and yard on the property which needs cleaning and some repair but nothing drastic. I am SOOOO pumped!!
