Permethrin spray- what else do I need?

My chicken-keeping headaches got worse this week with the discovery of what we think are northern red mites.

I plan to get permethrin spray this weekend at TSC, but I've never done this before, and my coop setup really stinks, so I was wondering what else will I need to apply the permethrin? A spray bottle? A powder sprayer? Just an old knee-high? And what about the coop - how to I treat the coop with it? My coop is built up on 3-foot posts with a drop-down back wall for cleanout. The floor of the coop is as high as my waist and I can't physically get in there.

I assume the bottle will tell me how long before we can eat the eggs, although we haven't been able to eat the eggs anyway because we have a bunch of egg-eaters that I have been unable to thwart with frequent egg removal or fake eggs in the next box, AND we have a broody hen.

Any mite-eliminating advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I use a quart sized sprayer for small jobs, and something like this for larger jobs:

Edited to add:
Zero day egg withdrawal with permethrin spray or dust.

Here's a good thread on spraying with Gordon's permethrin:

How far along is your broody?
Does she have mites on her and in her nest?
You'll want to treat her and her nest but need to remove her from the coop while you spray every nook and crannie in the coop.

Seeing pics of your coop set up might help us offer more specific tips.
