Can you tell from this video what this issue might be?

The hen seems to be doing fine except that she still seems to be rubbing that right eye and tends to close the lid. Her sight is about 90% and she can easily eat feed but does have a hard time focusing on small items if fed by hand. Does anyone have any thoughts on the eyelid closing. I thought about maybe a daily eye flush with tylan and water for several days but not even sure it's infected. It does look a little watery but maybe that is due to something else..........thanks.

There can be many causes - getting some dust/debris in the eye, some type of wound/insect bite, bacterial infection (like e.coli) or illness. Watery/bubbly eyes are sometimes an indication of respiratory illness, but without having a swab tested by a vet, there's no way to know the exact cause.

You can try flushing the eye with saline and apply some Vetericyn eye gel or Terramycin eye ointment. @Eggcessive has used triple antibiotic ointment (plain Neosporin) in the eyes as well. Whatever you can find and are comfortable using.

The slow closing could be from when she was really sick - I'm not sure what happened there, it did look somewhat neurological to me - she may have suffered a mild stroke(?) and is slowly adapting.

I'm glad to hear she is able to find her food, she has really made a great improvement.

Keep us posted.

Thanks I was thinking the same thing that maybe she is just recovering from possible nerve damage to the eye area. I will flush it for the next few days just as a precaution and I do have some Neosporin on hand.

Here is an update video to show where I am at with the hen. The only issue is when she is fed by hand or focusing on greens that I toss the flock. She can access the feed with no problem which makes sense. I will be spraying a solution of about 20% tylan 50 to 80% water around her eyes and nostrils as a precautionary measure and see what happens in time. I got some good information here on some of the other threads during a search yesterday.

The video might be helpful for others and I will update as the process goes along. She misses by about a 1/4"
