Do chickens in general, eat less food in winter?

Thanks everyone for all your input. Obviously there are lots of factors affecting food consumption. I am still collecting eggs regularly and their weights have stayed the same so I'm not all that worried. Certainly with the cold weather and snow, they are less active. They do keep busy in their secure, covered, and windproof run digging about in all the shavings. Some days they dig through the 6" of shavings and have a go at the ground.

Mine seem to eat more too, but they aren't getting as much other stuff. They do get treats but not so much vegies like they get when my gardens are growing. I always plant extra stuff or them.

Mine seem to be eating less. they have slowed in egg production but are still laying. They seem to like the cold and ice.( Not sure about snow as we do not get that very much.)had below freezing temps for two weekswith ice. They stayed outside no matter. I think it all depends on breed. All mine are cold hardy

Mine are eating me out of house and home. I wonder if they are bored or because it has been so cold . They are not laying much at all.

So it's not just me then? Lol. I'm shocked at how much feed I'm going through! In December I bought 4 x 20kg sacks of feed for 20 chickens. And it's been a very mild winter so far. All 8 layers are in full swing though so at least I'm getting something back.
