PDZ in the brooder

SweetPDZ is generally safe. Be sure you are using the granular form, not the powder which is dusty and could cause respiratory problems.

I use it in my poop tray under the rooting bar.
 
Not sure it's good for the brooder pen, PDZ deodorizes & absorbs, chicks tend to pick & eat everything in sight. I'm no expert, waiting to hear what others with more experience have to say. Love the PDZ in the poop board, sure saves alot of cleaning

I layered the granulated about an inch thick in the brooder and am going to be replacing it. The whole sunroom the brooder is in is completely covered in fine white dust. It is awesome for the poop but man is it a mess. Also kind of worries me about the respitory health of the chicks. It seems just as dusty if not more so than play sand.
