I'm not sure if I'm feeding correctly. I have 15 chicks that are 8 weeks old. I'm feeding them later pellets mixed with scratch. The girls free range for at least 6 hours a day too. I'm giving them 2 scoops of layer and 1 scoop of scratch to balance out the feed.

I live on an island and finding grower/finisher has been a challenge. Am I on the right track here?

With juvenile chickens from 8-16 weeKS of age, you should feed them a grower (or flock raiser) feed. Layer feed can hurt them when they get older because is has too much calcium in it.

Scratch and other treats should be limited to about 20% of their diet because to them, it's like candy or ice cream.

I realize layer is not ideal but I can't purchase grower/finisher where I live. Should I just feed chick starter until they are fully grown? That means my adult girls will eat chick crumbles too.

YES. Free choice calcium on the side for the layers (Oyster's or egg shells)
