Secure cover for run.

I'm building a run for some friends. Anybody know where I can get 1"x2" welded wire that is 5' wide? The run is 10'x10' and I only want one seam. I'm only finding 2"x4" patterns and I'm worried those holes might be too big for the top covering. I'm using hardware cloth all around the sides. I'd be willing to use it on the top too, but I can't find it wider than 48".
 
Will the birds be confined in the coop at night or will the coop open into the run 24/7? Asking as 1x2 is still large enough to be breached by many predators, several of whom are more likely to come at night, scale the side, enter the top and then make entry to an open coop to feast on roosting birds. For absolute security you'll want smaller openings and may have to add some framing across the top span to support the smaller witdth of the hardware cloth.
 
If you want full security you will need to cover any openings where predators can enter with hardware cloth. I used cattle panel and covered with 1/2" hardware cloth. No losses to date and don't expect any.

The run is just for the daytime. The coop will be secured at night. Adding extra framing for the roof is the what I'm trying to avoid. If I'm unable to locate the welded wire I want, I will use hardware cloth and add the extra supports.

So use 5' cattle panel to support the hardware cloth? Did you use clips to hold the edges of the hardware cloth together or something else?
 
Yes. I bent three cattle panels wired together and standing on ends to form a tunnel 8 feet wide and about 6 1/2 feet tall and about 10' long. Covered entire thing with hardware cloth that I bought off ebay. I used stainless steel wire to tie the hardware cloth to the cattle panel. Put a door on one end and attached the other end to the coop which is an 8 x 8 shed. The cattle panel is sturdy enough to hang the feeder, water bucket and even a roost from. We covered it with some free blue tarps from Harbor Freight to keep them shaded in the hot Texas sun.

You can get clips to hold the panels together but the wire works fine. I used zip ties for the blue tarps but they dry rot after a few months in the sun and have to be replaced.
