Strange cooked egg white consistency, any ideas?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what might be causing this.

I love to hard boil my eggs from my hens, but when I do, the egg yolk comes out perfect, but the egg white does not firm up properly. It stays almost like a firm jelly consistency. It's really not a pleasant texture to eat!

Any ideas what it might be? Could my hens be lacking something?

Sorry I don't have a photo!

Thanks! :)

Are you hens complaining?

I boil them on my electric hob, don't have a burner! I like mine well done so I leave them on for roughly 10 minutes from boiling!

I do 14 minutes of rapid boiling, a recipe I got off this site years ago, so maybe try a few more minutes, fresh eggs have more water content than store eggs.

That's great advice, thank you :) I'll definitely try that next time I'm having them.
