Betty White wants to know when she's going to get her adult feathers in?

I have seen posts on this before but it seems really odd now.

I have 2 Lakenvelder's..one silver (Betty White) and one golden (Lucille Ball), both hatched on 3/29/17..so they are about 26 days old. My Lucille has gotten many feathers, including the tail feathers. Betty has NONE..and I mean NONE..( I have great pics but the site won't let me post them..or i don't know how :) ). I have a Barred Plymouth (Princess Lay-A-Egg) who hatched on 4/3 who is really feathered out nicely. Heck I even have a 5 day old Silver Laced Wyandotte that is getting in her feathers and a 7 day old Light Brahma also feathering. Now Betty is about the same height as Lucille, but I can tell she probably isn't as heavy (but that might just be looks of the feathers making Lucille look bigger). She is very active, eating, drinking..being a very funny baby chick..watching her chase a baby cricket this morning was very comical.

Does anyone really have any idea why she would be taking so long? Now I know I might have a BOB HOPE, instead of a Betty White..but wondering if it could be something else..because it just really seems odd. Also is anyone able to tell if she's a Betty or a Bob at this age? Oh and if anyone can tell me how to post a picture..that would be great :)

Thank you!

Sharon

Hi Shortsheets,
Some times males feather out slower. I'm not sure if it specific breeds though.

To post a picture click on the icon with the mountains and sun. Then click on the "upload files" icon.. wait a few seconds and it will ask from whereby highlighting your options all the way on the left of you screen.

choose "this pc". It will show your pictures. hit open, them select which ones you want by holding down your ctrl key, while mouse clicking on your pictures. pick as many as you like. they will highlight in blue. then hit open again and it will ask what size. I just do medium. then hit submit.

For some reason all my picture print on top of my post instead of under .
Hope this helps.

Often you can’t post photos or attachments on this forum until you have a certain number of posts, it used to be 10. That’s a protection against robo-scammers and viruses. Just go to the new member forum and greet a few people, that should take care of it if that is your problem.

There are certain genes that control how fast a chick feathers out, called slow-feathering or fast-feathering gene appropriately. It’s possible this could be the difference. It doesn’t matter if the chick is male or female. It could be something else, but as long as the chick is active and healthy, don’t worry.

Hahaha..I don't see any Mountains or Suns :) The answer might be because I'm too new per the post above:) Now I did download the pics to my profile. But either way I guess I'm not going to worry about him or her. Great piggie!

Thank you!!
