In the Brooder
So this little chomper was the first to quack so naturally I assumed it's a female. However today I'm noticing white feathers on the throat?!? Help. Please.

If it actually quacks, it's a girl. If it makes a kinda hoarse sound it's a boy.

I had the same problem when I first had ducks. I was having difficulty telling between a male noise and a quack. Best way to try to figure it out by that is look up videos and compare. Usually female quacks sound more loud and like a honking sound to me, where as the males are quieter and almost a squeaky sound. I never considered the males raspy as they say. Females also tend to make a lot of noise constantly where as males tend to keep quieter and make sound only occasionally.
I wish I could figure out how to post a video. It's definitely a quack but it sounds kind of raspy, but not really, I don't know if that makes sense or not
Hmm... I don't know. It sounds like it's a boy, but i's have to hear it to be certain. I know some people to post videos, post the video on youtube and then post the link here. Maybe I can find a video of a boy quack for you to hear.If it is a female, why would it be getting a white collar on its throat? I'm so confused, maybe it's a he she?
